Can anyone tell me if they have any slop in the back of the gearbox where the drive shaft spins in?

It is a fitting on the back of the gearbox that can be replaced. This could be the reason for all the geabox/drivetrain vibration I am getting, coming from the worn output of the gearbox.

I have replaced almost everything else in the vehicle and this is about the last thing I am willing to try. I would appreciate it if I can get some feedback from as many as people as possible.

Thanks.

Just a note:
- driveshaft rebuilt
- replaced geartbox (might have done more work than wrecker said :x )
- all new mounts
- rebuilt engine
- castor wedges to correctly angle diff. (after new springs)
- no abnormal worn noise from any bearings in wheels/gearbox/diff

I believe that if it is a front to back slop then it is the pinion gear in the diff. Maybe a crush sleeve or worn bearing. If it is rotational it's gear backlash. All diffs have a certain amount of backlash set into them. If it is more than about .010" then ring and pinion are worn.

Did you have the drive shaft balanced after rebuilding with U joints?

Of course the Feroza has slip joints but I don't think that the Rocky does...what do you own?...duh just noticed your sig.
