They are not cheap :bad-words:

best bet is to keep an eye out for one in a wreckers yard ( they will still charge like a wounded bull tho )

or even better ask around the forum if anyone has a spare ( try doing a wanted add in the wanted section )

I was on the phone to a couple of wreckers today about other items I'm chasin and asked just as a point of interest "A" if they had any, & "B" how much ....

One wrecker had two and none were availible at any of the others I spoke too. ....
The wrecker wants $800 for the glass bit only ... + delivery & insurance costs.

I'll have a look around elsewhere tommorow for ya .... I know where there might be one sitting that may be cheaper ( the guy has no idea as to its value )

Seems to me you could get the original glass pretty easy in NZ. I see MQ/MK/Safaris being parted all the time on Trademe. Most are listed at under $1k for the whole truck, usually trashed but not always. And who cares if it is rusty all you need is the glass. I think there is one or two being parted right now on Trademe.

And the PTO's I also see all the time on Trademe. New Zealand got tons of Safari's imported from Japan and lot's of those are packing PTO's. My 5spd for my 83 MQ came from NZ, PTO box attached. Whole thing from bellhousing to e-brake assembly plus PTO box ran me $500usd and it is in top shape. If I can find this stuff sitting on my ass here in the USA I don't understand why you guys can't find it on your side of the pond. :P

For example this was just in NZ on Trademe. For $1000, it is worth a hell of a lot more than that in just parts.

yes i would have done that but..... all the mq/mk's that have been on trademe recently have been LWB and dont have usually have the same back door the have like barn doors instead of a "bank window" and fold down tailgate...totally different glass anyway its only going to cost me like $100 for a peice of polycarbonate which is probably better than the orignal glass (tougher) :D
