80 Series Rear diff in front?

Post by Darwin_GQ »

Hi guys,

I mate from work just blew up the front diff in his GXL 80 series. He can get hold of a cheap rear LSD diff center. Will this fit into the front and would it be OK being a LSD in the front.

Thanks

Jason

OK, thanks for clearing that up guys.

So if I get an 80 (down the track) my current rear air locker centre can be put in the 80's front, or will I have to buy another one ???

The air locker is thesame between the lux and front 80..

The best advice i can give is for your mate to put an air locker in when he fixes the diff...as they strengthen the teeth....being a solid lump of metal opposed to a cast piece of steel withy holes each side....

Depends what model Hilux. If the locker is an RD01(I think)there is a slight difference to to the Landcruiser locker RD23(I think).

I had to buy a new locker for the front when I put the LC80 diffs in my Hilux I was expecting the Hilux rear locker to fit.
