series front shock mounts

sorry all, some crapy series tech..

I'm looking to move the lower mounts for the front shockers to above the leaf springs. I have some spare mounting plates which can go between the spring and the diff housing. I realise the upper shock mount point will need to be raised to compensate and don't mind welding in some mini shock hoops.

ideally - mounting the shocks to the top of the diff tubes and mounting a longer shock hoop would suit me better.

Just want to clean up (as much as possable ) the spring mounts. IE grind off all the rubbish, smooth up.

Any thoughts ? What am i missing - why didn't LR do this to start with?

Hi, yes if its hanging down, chop it off!

I guess they didn't do it before due to cost (fabbing shock mounts on the chassis).

As long as you don't change the shock angle too much it should work fine (I think).

Good idea, I reckon, Al.

Good idea. I have never grounded anything on my shock mounts so I have never bothered.

Ideally the shock mount should be slightly behind the axle tube, not above, as then you can help to control some of the front axle-wrap that series rovers.
