Hi all,
I am finally gonna have a go at nakeing my own snorkel for my NG V6 wagon.
Can anyone suggest what the inside diameter should be at a minimum?
I have a problem that the snorkel is gonna run beside the windscreen where the aerial is. If anyone has done this before, what did they do about this problem?
cheers

The safari snorkel is 3 inch at it's smallest point.
The airtec looked smaller to me.

wow that is pretty big!
What actually stops water from getting into the filter if you are driving in the rain?

heres the link to mine mate,
http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... ght=snorks
some of the pics are missing cos iv removed them from my photobucket account to make room, but yeh if theres anything else you wanna see just ask i got allthe photos around, no biggy. but yeh everything i did is in that thread
i just used 3" mild steel exhaust pipe. id do stainless next time round i rekon, or something else, cos i have to rub it back and repaint it every couple of months cos it gets some surface rust. Then cut the hole, used duct pipe to run it into the airbox, modified the airbox to suit, silicon everything, syainless hoseclamps for everything, and i used the little copper plumbing pipe things to hold it to the a pillar, pop riveted them to the car, then hoseclamped the snorkel to them.

I saw your post when i did a search. very nice!
I see that you don't have an aerial where it's mounted. I do. what do you think I can do about that?

yeah i had the same problem with my car (NC).
i got a $16 anteena from supercrap and some anteena extension cord and mounted the anteena on the b bar next to my UHf, also you then can use the old anteena mounting spots for your snorkle (save drilling holes in the a pillar.)

love all the work you have been doing
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do about the rear bumper. I want to make one up myself too, but I'll wait til I complete the snorkel. My girlfriend tells me i never finish anything! I'll show her!!
