Has any body out there fitted one of the body lift kits for a classic range rover made by Les Richmond Automotive? if so are they worth it and any pros/cons to them

they are the most complete body lift kits on the market in my eyes..... very easy todo. they also come with seat belt mounts, out rigger supports etc
others only give you the body mounts.

Yeah i have fitted one of these kits, very easy with instructions to follow. One thing i found annoying was the clutch line. Would have been nice if an extended line was thrown in with the kit.

The kit is very good and gives you everything you need (except clutch & brake lines) but if you like doing things yourself you can save big $$$ make up your own lift.

If shit goes down thou walker i can walk into Les Richmond and get Andrew to organise engineers for it easy as. Part of the reason i payed the big bucks. They do give you a bracket to mount the brake lines up higher but they are not the strongest. Another item that could have been done better i reckon.

Great kit.
Not sure if the kit has changed in the last few years, but some of the brackets you have to tack weld onto the chassis.
Easy 1 day job.

I have fitted these.
They are very well engineered, much better than most.
As far as brackets welded onto chassis, in the kits I have seen, they include gussets for early models vehicles that weld to the chassis and the bottom of the existing body mount to strengthen them where the chassis sometimes cracks. The cracking is not because of the body lift.

I have to agree that the old DIY body lifts may be the thing of the past
I suppose the expense is better than risking your life, but bodlylifts, there's nothing there that is endagering yourself or anyone else, it's all down to doing it properly really.
Dunno if Graeme Cooper sell there 1 and 2 inch body lifts anymore

Yep I just fitted one the other week. I found it was easy to fit and very comprehensive. I had to modify the front mounts to suit my custom bullbar but that was it. All up no problems , with easy to understand instructions. Hardest part was removing the 25 year old original bolts !

In the bad picture they give ya (everything comes powder coated black now) the two big plates and the two long bits at the bottoms are what lift your bullbar, the bits in the middle also lift the body. The two long one's brace back to the panhard/steering mount? too lazy to look at mine.
If you hit something hard enough to bend the raised mounts, the body lift is probably the last thing your gunna be worried about.... Its also the only Bodylift I could find that is easily engineerable hence the price!

I got my body lift for around $100 total.
Engineer had one look and told me it was fine. no problems. It did require some extra spacers and drilling but all road legal and saved a packet.
Special thanks to "team Fubar" with the install.

Les richmond stuff is good no doubt !! But who can afford his prices. Just trying to afford to take your V8 out these days is a struggle. I made mine for about $130 its a big differnce. So is the quality but if its works then I use it.

1200 isnt a huge price to pay considering thats a simple bolt on kit and seeings as it lifts the fron bar 2 i would do it

The install definatly isnt worth $500 unless your a complete gimp, or have NO time to do it what so ever. In either case you probably shouldnt own a rangey either
