Temperature Sender size

Any idea what the size of the coolant temperature sender is in a County 110? I have a 4.6L block with 3.5L top end and the sender has given up the ghost (VDO gauge). Went to pull it out and coolant started coming out so didn't want to take it all the way out as I didn't have any spare coolant at home.
1/8 - 27 NPT
1/4 - 18”
3/8 - 18 or;
1/2 - 14”

Well I took the sender out but there were no part numbers on it that I could see. Checked the VDO site and the 2 parts with spade connectors are:
320.022 40-120 ºC thread 1/2 ”-14NPTF
320.035 40-120 ºC thread M14x1.5mm
Now the next question is what thread will it be?

This is why this is such a brain teaser.
JSTTRY has a 4.6 with a 3.5 top end.
OK, if it is a carby inlet manifold it will be NPTF.
If it is a 3.5 injection manifold it will be NPTF (I think)
If it is a 3.9 injection manifold it will be metric.
That is if someone has not just run a tap through the manifold to suit whatever sender he had!!!!
Really JSTTRY, its impossible for anyone on this forum to say with any certainty what you have because it is not standard. You have to suck it and see in these circumstances. Isn't there an instrument shop in Darwin you can trundle along to?

Not really, most of the stock has to come out of interstate which is why I was hoping to get it right the first time so I didn't have to wait around
There is limited knowledge of Land Rovers I've found up here too so thought I might tap into the knowledge of the forum instead.
It has 3.5L manifold with twin carbies so will try out the NPTF version. I notice VDO do a universal fit kit which various sizes included, I might try that.

I found the part number for the guage, 310-302.
You wouldn't believe it but I took the sender to a shop and they couldn't tell me which one I needed even with the guage part number so I brought 3 different senders (which they didn't even have in their instore catalog
Got home and checked the VDO site and found they are all 40-120deg units with M15x1.5 threads but they all have different ohm ratings.
