Has anyone ever had a uni joint that was knackered but to lie under the truck there was no movent.
Basically i have a vibration thats gradually got a little worse and it feels and sounds like a uni but when you lie under the truck and check for movent there is none.
Could it possibly be a that the uni joint has a tight spot or similar?

before my spring lift, my rear rear uni used to sieze on one axis.
It vibrated, creaked and clunked, but had no noticible movement.
I suspect the lift caused unis to run at a better angle, and has never done it again.
unis need a bit of angle to keep the grease moving around and thus not seizing (I think)

Interesting christover i recently have done the opposite and increased my lift by 30mm.I am wondering if the uni had got comfortable so to speak and now i have upset it by putting the lift in and it changing angles

Yes, thats very possible, bearings and the like do get into a comfort zone.
You probably are right.
re greasing may help, but I'd replace it.
My original springs were very shagged, and there was no angle at all in the uni.
I replaced unis with the spring lift anyway.

Did you jack a wheel up? The drive line could be loaded, hence the no play.

Check with the vehicle in neutral so there is no load on the drive line.
Be sure to chock your wheels
