Just wondering if any one could help identify this Power steering box I have. I recieved it as a spare for my Hilux, but it's nothing like the original one. It's considerable larger than the Hilux box.
Any ideas on what kind of vehicle it maybe from, and if so what would it be worth??.
It shows no signs of being on a vehicle since full reconditioning.
Thanks

maybe falcon? does it have any markings on it other than variable ratio, and made in aus?

Only a guess but i think it is a WB holden. WB was the only Box that came Variable ratio in the HQ-WB range.
Its not falcon going by the pitman arm as it has no balljoint and is also pointing the wrong way. The falcon one mounts behind the axle. The WB one mounts way out front.

It prob came from the Doner vehicle your engine came from.

it's not a HQ/WB steering box because i have several of these already. The motor in my Hilux is a 253 V8. There are no more markings on the box other than the ones shown in the photos.

Are the threads on the mounting face metric?

Had a friend tell me today that its not the same as his XE steering box. He told me that from XA to XF power steering units are all the same, and these Ford boxes have curved pitman arms.

forget the piman arm, just check the mounting surfaces, because it looks strikingly like a ford box.

I will suss out the mounts on it 2morrow Jess.
Think my best bet would be to take the box to a steering specialist and see what they reckon.
I will post up on what the steering specialist concludes.
Thanks to everyone who put in a reply!.
