Outer Limits 4x4 Board

my patrol has just failed its annual roadworthy test. its failed on 2 counts. the one that i dont recall being mentioned as a problem point before on forums is the fuel pipes. specifically my fuel hoses are leaking somewhere where the go above the rear spring on the drivers side. whilst i cant specifically see it pissing out fuel the pipes are wet and you can see where its made the rear drivers side spring nice and shiny and clean. also when you turn the motor off yoou can hear the pipes hissing.

so my questions are:

is this a common problem?
there seem to be 4 pipes in total [but only one is shiny and wet] so would i need to replace all the pipes or just the wet one?
are new fuel hoses available or are they as rare as rocking horse sh**?
is this a massive job/expensive job to fix [replacing the pipes]?

with the fuel lines cracking, it may also be linked to the rear spring mount tearing off the chassis, and squeezing the flue linebetween the body,
i am only taking a rough guess here as ive heard of this problem once or twice,

It will start with the fuel line as it is the largest diameter pipe there,

The spring mount tearing off, is a sign of heavy use, may it be you, or a previous owner,

But we never know, it may be as simple as the pipes vibrating, and becoming work hardened, and stress cracking,

ozy1 thanks for your reply. do you know if fuel pipes are available as spare parts from nissan or do you think i'll only be able to get them from breaker yards?

I would suggest locating the leak properly first. It may have a cause that is fixable without replacing the pipe or without replacing the whole pipe.

For example, if the damage/leak is close to the end, then you may simply be able to cut the pipe and use a slightly longer piece of flexible hose to reach it.
