just wondering how you ajust the preasure with your air lockers
like when i put my finger over the tube and turn them off hardly any air comes out but i know they work fine.
infact so little air comes out i carnt even hear it unless your head is next to the pipes
this dosnt seem normal but then again i am not shore
any pointers in the right direction would be good
cheers

Air lockers are actuated at about 90PSI but can work well below that. The reason you cant hear much air escaping once the locker is released is because it doest hold a lot of air in the system. It is relatively small inside the locker plumbing itself, which means it wont hold a great volume of air and doesnt need a whole lot in reserve to keep it on.

75 to 105psi
Amount of air = ,, perchoof,,

Gear oil being forced back up the line muffles the air release also.

You shouldn't have to go much over 100, if you do you risk seal failure, its been done before.
You could just put a pressure gauge on the tank and see where the pump cuts out.

ARB compressors have a pressure switch that kicks in at 85psi and stops at 105psi. The locks need about 80psi (not certain on the psi) to be activated but only need about 40 or 45psi to hold in.

I tapped into my Rangies EAS system for air supply, which can run up to 150PSI. To prevent the air-locker exploding upon activation I installed an SMC regulator, set to 90 PSI, just before the ARB solenoid.
And yeah, I get a BIG "perchoof" upon de-activation.
If you need a regulator, spend the money on a good one. The SMC jobbie was about $47. I happened to try a Super Cheap and far out, it was crap.
