I've replaced my water pump yesterday, noticed there's improvment in cooling. but that's beside the point, while i was replacing, u know you had to remove the timing belt cover to do the job. while at it. i noticed that the timing was out by couple teeths. i had it aligned at the crank, the cam wasn't lined up. so i re align the timing. and looks good according to the manual. Up on starting it up, lotta smoke and rough idling for a few sec, i suppose it's the ECU reprogramming itself?? once it's running smooth. it was idling at 1500rpm when cold. but when it warms up. drops down to around 800 mark. Is this normal???? since i've got the car it hasn't doe this.

800 is normal idle on ours. Reset the ecu if you're concerned about that. Just disconnect it for a bit :)

800rpm is normal idle for mine aswell. think you ight want to reset the ecu so that it can calibrate the changes.

(off topic, mudroza - are you getting my pm's? *cough*.)

If it's cold when you start (ie. coolant cold) then 1500 RPM isn't out of the question. There's a air bypass valve in the throttle body that is open when the coolant is cold, as the coolant warms up it closes up and reduces the idle.
