ARB Air Lockers!!!

Just wondering if any of you guys have put an air locker in the rear of you Jackaroo/Rodeo/MU/Frontera.... (Maybe I should have just said ISUZU)..

Well anyways I have just bought two and I know all the front ones are the same but with the rear, in the instructions it describes a salsbury style diff like the Dana 44... but the MU has a banjo style, and like I thought most of the other Isuzu in Oz were the same as mine!!! Esp. since I use to have a Rodeo and it had banjo style... and it was listed under the same locker!!!!!

So is there anyone out there in Isuzu land that could help.... Or maybe I'll just try and put it in and see how it goes??!!!

Firstly, good on you for going ahead with it. You will probably be the first Isuzu made vehicle in oz with dual lockers (that Ive heard of anyway). :cool:

I always thought that the MU/Amigo had more in common with the Jackaroo/Trooper than with the Frontera but according to the ARB application guide the MU(Amigo?)/Frontera(V6) share the same rear diff.

I alway thought it was because of the MU and Jackaroo being Jap built and the Frontera (V6) being US built. Hence the Frontera having the Dana 44 diff. :?

Maybe to be safe before you really get stuck into the install you could just take some measurements of the shaft diameter and count the shaft splines as these numbers are on the ARB application guide.
Actually some quite useful info for comparing Isuzu diffs.

I put an airlocker in the rear of my 99 V6 Frontera S a few months ago. THe ARB list for the 4.3 diff was a RDO6 but when it was pulled apart it was an RD07 same as a Wrangler. It is a DANA 44 but you might find the v6 is different to the shorty. The crown wheel is too big for the RD06. Anyway it works well (thats a gross understatement). The hardest thing I find is remembering I have it now. GOt myself stuck near Cape Melville in bulldust because of it and driver stupidity.
The oil seal got stuffed when the axles were pulled so it ended up costing another $380 to replace the seal and bearing.

well the front locker is in tested it out today and... it is bloody great best mod yet, no more working the brake, but there are still a couple of places left to conquer, she just couldn't do it with the LSD in the back, so hope fully this other one will fit in. I'll keep you posted.

Rear locker is in :armsup: :armsup: :armsup:

I installed it in a rodeo centre first then swaped it over into the MU, perfect fit, everything the same!!!

I guess now I'll have to test it out...
