Hi Gilian

We didn't get the 4m40 with an auto in Australia - the only ones here were "grey" imports.

However, the A/T light may work the same as Aussie models, or somebody else with your model may be able to answer your question.

Cheers,

Scott

Yep it's an auto tranny fluid over temp warning lamp.
Comes on at 143 degrees celcius and goes off at 125 degrees celcius.
The switch is located on the right hand side of the tranny.
If it is coming on now and then in normal driving :-
- check fluid level
- maybe time for a fluid change and flush
- check the auto tranny fluid oil cooler system (maybe blocked or restricted).

Greetings,

I have already change atf fluid using dextron III. 6 litters what could you suggest kind of atf fluid to be use and how much should i use will 6 litters will be ok? I have lost my manual thats why i dont have any idea. the atf sensor still blinks at my pannel after i have done the procedure you have advice. where can i find the oil cooler for atf? is it the one located at the front that looks like a aircon condenser only its a bit smaller? thats the only part that i have not yet check or its located below the radiator like the once i see from other cars. will cleaning the sensor inside the oil pan wll be possible as a solution?

a plenty of thanks

Gilian
