Brand new demo Dakar

Post by bushy555 »

Just finished a coula days ago in the Dakar factory in the UK...
300tdi, an extra 2 inch lift built onto the roll cage.
Peeps thoughts...?

The ex-red bull Bushie is still for sale from Rhino buggies. $20,000.

The whole rear end looks like is been hit with a mack truck. Its all squashed up and out of proportion. Not keen on the doors (prefer the open look with these) but I suppose in the uk you'd need them a lot. Also the rear wheel arches need to be opened up a bit at the back to try and make it look more in proporion with the front. Also agree the tyres are too SMALL.

Looks like they have messed up what was a good thing. The front wheel doesn't look like it is the right place in the guard, and as said above back end looks squashed.

The additional 2" in the roll cage contributes to the short/tall look plus it looks like it has another 2" body lift then they put 31" tyres on it.

I'm not a fan of their doors but the guard flares look much better than the soft rubber flares we tend to use in Australia.

All wrong and hard to fix.

Give me the original "pure" Dakar any day.

To me now the chassis looks right (with the big wheels  ) but the back end of the body is still all wrong. Its like they've cut the back half off the body, squashed that too half its original length then stuck it back on effectivley loosing a 1/4 of the lenght of the body  . To me the original dakars looked good but when you put the tops on these they just don't look right. Maybe if they only used two doors they may be able to work the lines of the body a little better but having four doors doesn't work. And its too tall.
