What type of clutch do u use

Can all the Nissan GQ owners who have a LT1 or a LS1 or the gen 3 chev/commodore engines fitted advise me what type of heavy duty clutches they are using.

I am trying to find a Exedy Safari Tuff 4x4 clutch kit for my LT1 engine in Melbourne somewhere close to the airport. That way I could pick it up when I come to or back from the OBC.

Maybe someone could find one elsewhere in Australia and bring it to the OBC for me

Please advise - I understand Norm(last years winner) has a LS1/gen 3 fitted to his GQ, so I wonder what clutch he is using

You could try contacting Exedy direct with your requirements:

http://www.exedy.com.au/contact.aspx

They also have a dealer locator link.

Failing that - you could ring them direct: +61 3 9701 5556 (from phone book).

In my experience, I rang them and they were all too happy to speak with me and advise the best solution for my Patrol. (and I knew very little about clutches when I rang). They gave me the part numbers, and I went back to my supplier and ordered.

Hope it helps.

Thanks of4x4 - that is a line that I am trying now via email but stillawaiting a response. The phone number is worth a try later in our day when they will be up and going.

I thought there must be a few of you boys across the ditch who have done the same conversion and have already sussed out a good clutch kit.

Does anyone have Norm Walters email address - I met him in 2004 in New Zealand at one of our winch challenges, but I dont have a contact for him

cheers

1/ Apparently Norm is not on email !

2/ Exedy only make Tuff truck 4x4 clutch kits for Japanese vehicles

3/ Its back to the drawing board to find out what th Aussie boys are using, but they are a bit slow in coming forward and letting their secrets out
