I think this is tech ?
Have any of you with the Rave Landrover workshop manual CDs tried to use them latley ?
I cannot open either of mine and I have checked with a mate he has the same problem!
Someone told me a while back that they have a sort of built in expiary to render them useless after a certian date, I think they may be right, can anyone else confirm this ?
If so is there any way round it ? Have tried changing the date on the computor and didnt work.

G'day Brian
The Rave CDs files are basically integrated and encrypted pdf files that are written to be run by the version of Adobe Reader that is present on the CD.
To my knowledge they can't be run or viewed natively by an independent reader as the encyption needs to be overcome.
I doubt the 'built in expiry' thing.
To run the Rave CD just run the Rave.exe file.

IIRC, there is a time limit and you need to change the date back for your computer system before using rave.

No time limit on Rave, thats on Microcat.

I have succsesfully split the rave cd into the various pdf manuals by using a free application called ghostscript and then i print them to pdf again using a pdf printer driver.

Print them off Rave to file using a post script printer, view in ghostscript and print to pdf printer as a file.

Worked for me.
