Ok i managed to snap off 5 of the 6 studs and both dowels on the l/h/f freewheel hub on the weekend  .. I have removed all the broken studs :D but am not sure about getting the dowels out.. Does anyone have any ideas :?:

NOTE: For the guys who are going to put part time kits into there 80 series, DONT use the 4wd Systems kits as the free wheel hubs they supply dont have the provision for the locking cones in the hub.. The nuts/studs end up coming loose causing the studs and dowels to snap off...

try drilling them out ,
even use a easy out too remove it so you don't upset the housing

just make sure the drill is dead center

or even drill them out to leave a small amount of dowel left and use a hammer n punch to collapse the wall of the dowel

So i had a go at getting the dowels out and after an hour or so and a lot of this> :bad-words: i gave up.
And i ended up getting Thread Tech to remove them :D I highly recommend Thread Tech for any thread repairs, broken bolts/studs etc the cost was under $100 for the removal of 3 dowels :D
If your in Brisbane give Ron a call on 0418 885 463 or 1300 thread :D

get a masonry drill and sharpen it to be like a normal drill then with lots of cutting lube drill them out and remove the rest with a lil punch
