Should a correctly adjusted td42 make any type of ticking sound?

Had turbo fitted about 6 weeks ago and now it ticks. They installed turbo and rebuilt injectors and did valve clearances when they installed the turbo. Ever since I can hear a tick which is more prominent just off idle.

It has been back twice. The first time the answer was we can't hear it and must have been there to start with....the second time was that everyting is set right and the tappets may be making the noise cause they are set correct??????

My understanding is that when everything is set right I shouldn't have any odd noises. My TD42 only has 150,000kays and I am having a hard time living with the tick. I DON'T LIKE ODD NOISES OF ANY TYPE....

Is he right or should I go back and tell them to fix the problem?

If they say everything is set right, FA you can do really - that is IF it is all set right.
I went thru hell tryin to get my Turbo sorted out properly... Good luck.

i suggest take it to another turbo fitter and pay to get it checked out because if they have stuffed it up and if it goes bang your going to be out of pocket as i doubt they will cover everything
