7mge into hilux help (starter motor)?

Post by SASS »

Hi all, putting a 7mge into my 89 dualcab. Ive stared but still getting some parts together. What im chasing is if the 7mge starter motor is the same for both manual and auto. no one can find me a manual starter anywhere. The bolt holes on the auto one line up with the bellhousing (W58) bolt holes (not in car yet) but after trying a few at the wreckers im not sure if it puts the starter gear in the right place to engage the 7mge flywheel!
Any help would be great Cheers

hey, i don't think auto to manual is any different. you can also use a 5m starter. i think totally imports in maroochydore had a starter to suit a while back, try giving them a call.
