I drive a 98 GU patrol and just wondering if a new steering dampener like a tough dog or rancho are worth their $$$$. There is a Tough Dog on E-bay for $165 (free delivery)

Do they make much difference?

Any help would be greatly apprciated. Cheers!

In general they do... but if you have mass shakes due to other issues, they will only kill the damper faster.. Sort them out first and then go with the damper.

I have the stock standard nervous 90's shakes that come with all GU's, but other than that no current issues. Thanks.

you just better off putting an OME unit on work just as good.

the RTC end up rusting springs fall out not as good as the OME which are only about $100 but if you like the look of it go for it.

Thanks morkz, I'm going to the 4x4 show @ rosehill on friday, so I will see what I can pick up one of the OME's for there.
