its just a ratio

hence

1:1 would be 1 litre to 1 litre

10:1 would be 10 litres to 1 litre

100: 1 would be 100 litres to 1 litre

so assuming you mix in 2o litre drums. fill with 20litres of petrol and add 200ml oil

10 litres add 100ml

5 litres add 50 ml

cheers mate

or, 10 mil of oil per one letre of petrol. Ratios drive me crazy too :bad-words: I just give the lawnmower a squirt or two, if she's blowin smoke, its got enuff :D

 thats one way to do it.
i used to hate having to do it for my boat when i esed to go out on it.
its better to put a little extra rather than too little. more oil will just make the plugs dirty.

100:1 is a pretty low oil ratio....

Bloke I used to work with was waiting in line at a servo to pay for his fuel. Woman in front had her 5 litre can, and asked how much oil she should put in - she knew she wanted 50:1.

Dufus behind the counter said "That means you need 50ml of oil per litre of petrol - I'll do it for you."

Mate spoke up - said "Nah mate, that's not right!" to be treated to a barrage of abuse along the lines of "I work in a petrol station, I know how to do this stuff, don't you tell me how to do my job! :bad-words: "

What do you do?
