saged ome springs
saged ome springs
has any1 every had a problem with ome springs. mine are 9 moths old 19000 km and have saged almost an inch in the front right 1/2 inch front left. arb aint shore if they will be able to replace them
OME springs are not noteed for sagging IMHO. They don't like being used outside of their design criteria though -
A) do you have stock bumpstops
B) Stock shackles
C) the correct spring for the application?
D) did you install them, and if so did you get the right and left springs round the right way on the car?
ARB can be a bit touchy about warranty.
sierras are way heavier on the the driver's side than the passengers. The spare tyre, fuel tank, steering box, transfer case and almost everything else is offset to the RHS. They do tend to sag a little on the Drivers side. Spare a though for the RUF people - they tend to sag really badly to the drivers side. The last car I set up is running an extra leaf on the drivers side and still sits low.

I bought EFS springs (2 inch) and mine did the same thing. I spoke to the guy there and he said that they use to have L & R leaf springs for the sierra's but they discontinued that and just sold them as pairs. I have only recently put them on and never been off road on them yet. I replaced everything when i bought the leaves: shackles, ubolts, shocks etc.
They are quite happy to reset the springs but ive been told it is not the best for flex when its done (springs become harder??)
I'll have to see what happens when its done.

stock bumpstops, stock schackles, arb did the install. i also have a long rang tank. if it was just me in the car all the time i would under stand why they would sag but i have a passanger atleast 80 % of the time. ome would know that there is more wieght on drvers side and would make that sides springs stiffer wouldnt they? of toppic my mother inlaw just got a new lrang rover sport and wants to take it to stoko soon what tyre pres would u run 19" wheels. ill get to drve it too
I have an OME setup and its sagged a little but nothing for me worry at this stage, interesting thing that the lift was more to the rear than the front.
There is a definite science behind this subject but I assumed that when I ordered a 2"inch lift kit h/duty OME shocks H/Duty Leafs EMU 4F05 all would be fine..The tyres BFG M/T's 30"x 9.5's.. On the whole the zook handles very well in comaprison to the orginal set up which handled like a pice of sh*t.
The front end is quite tight and as discussed in an earlier thread the front sway bar could come off. (mind you your road handling goes out the door) to give more articulation. I am happy all round but will let you know when I do i real decent bush bash (on tracks of course). My mate also had tremendus probs with his leafs but where not OME he has now been provided with some new ones...They had all sagged........ It goes to show you that certain dealers have no real idea about zooks, or they just not interested xcept the $1250!!!

There is certainly a large amount of variables and I had no choice in my selection of springs and shocks just went on the brand and ARB sent these to my dealer. It all fitted no worries and it handles like a dream...
Oh I dont like to admit to this but I accidently did a Jukes of Hazzard at the back of Anglesea Vic doin 80K's plus on what i thought was flat ground till it was too late a trench of not to great a depth We hit it and the Zook took off in the air but landed nose first in to the other side of the trench (The missus was not happy) and the zook bounced anther time in the air (yeeeehhhhaaaarrrr)
then finally i came to a stop thinking f**k the front end would have been bent to hell n back... but she was ok!!!!! We are talkin some real air time and a bad landing...But the ome's did there job....Mind you thats not what I had intended to do... Just Mud Snow Sand Tracks Mud Mud Mud oh and some street work...
