Hi just wondering how long does it take to remove a 4.2 gearbox and transfer case thats in the car..

Dont have hoist but could get access to one.

Its not that 'hard' to do, just farken heavy. I've done a couple now, both in a driveway with just a couple of jacks. First time two days, 1 out, 1 in. second time job done in about 10hours with a counter lunch in between.

It'd be easier (read more comfortable) with a hoist, just be careful as transfer case weighs half a farken tonne, and gearbox is even heavier.

The hard parts putting the baaarsted back in. The driver's floor well fouls with the bell-housing and there's not enough room to rotate the box enough. Body lift helps heaps!!

mark alignment of driveshafts both ends to where they bolt on as they're balanced.
