Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Ive seen pictures of it done before by putting a timber sleeper through the doors (removed doors), and just using a block and tackle.

Im happy to do it this way, but are there any tricks or anything to do before i lift it. Or does anyone have a better idea for it?

DO you want the cab?

If yes, the b+t+wood, will work. Or go down to the gearlever hole and put a board underneath and attach the chain onto there.

If no, Lift up one side and put a board under it, so the studfs will clear the chassis, then flip the other side over.

ahhh...the advantages of having a suzi....4 blokes one on each corner and lift....even 2 blokes could lift it if you can keep it balanced. Never done anything heavier but your method sounds about the best.

can you come and hold mine up for a week or two while i do everything else to it......... ill let you have tilet breaks....

I removed my Hilux extra cab by myself. I used mtorbike tie down straps and ratchet straps. I wound the windows down and used a piece of timber padded with towels to lift the main weight of the cab. I just hooked two tie downs to the radiator support panel at the front . I used the ratchet straps to lift the cab by the timber as far as they would go, then took up the slack by adjusting the tie down straps beside them. I then released the ratchet straps and took another bite and cranked them up again. Took up the slack with the tie downs, took another bite with the ratchets etc. I just lifted the front with one hand and adjusted the tie downs with the other. It only took half an hour to get it high enough to remove rolling chassis. When my missus was home, I just lifted the cab by hand and got her to adjust the tiedowns. All this was hanging from the shed roof.

i gotta pull my GQ body of also but my car wont fit in my shead its not hight enough..

if it dide i would get some I beams and make a jig to hold it up for a week

get some stock suspension and small wheels...........

I wouldn't take the doors off, some bodies are well known for collapsing through the door opening when lifted.

ive always lifted the cabs offf with a few blokes if i intend to keep it. otherwise lift one side up and flop it over onto a trailer.

if you need to, yeh put 2 wooden sleepers under the roof where the doors where and lift it with a block and tackle.
