A Frame Angles etc etc

Hey im in the process of putting a 3-Link(A Frame and lower control arms) into the rear of a lux.
I wanna keep the lower control arms as short as possible so the dont get hung up on rocks etc but i still want a bullsh*t amout of flex.
Can any one help me with a platfom to work from- preferable the angles and Lengths of the lower arms and A Frame.

try to get ur lowers into the 35"- 40" range keep them flat and triangulate them

No don't make the arms short.

The shorter the arms the more diff walk you get.


Make your arms longer!!!!

here is a good guide/write up on doing a 4 link and im also using this system for the 100 series diffs im putting in the 40 ,with a A frame

i also used its principles on my remote control rock crawlin buggy wich has worked a treat and sovled alot of dramas ive had with it

especially the part on were the lower control arms need to be tapperd inwards to stop torque steer at full flex

Any one else got thoughts on this...

I included a few pics to show u what im lookin for at the end... sorry its a crap drawing... of course the fuel tank and exhaust are not there now.
Lengths would help alot.

So i triangulate the lowers a bit.
anyone got help with the lengths of 'X' n 'Y' the idea i got from a 4 Link was make 'Y' 70% of 'X' thoughts????

Triangulating your lowers in the opposite dirrection to the uppers will help to reduce the "rear steer" effect as the suspension articulates.

uppers 75% shorter than lowers and vertical seperation about 1/4 the tyre width and make you links as long as you can don`t worry about ground clearance your rear will slide over

wen looking from the top project the lower links forward till they hit
then project the uppers backwards till they hit

now u have these two points

look from side on and connect the 2 points this is your roll axis

you want your roll axis flat or a little lower at the front

wich is pretty much impossible with parrallel lower links
