This is going to make you Sick. Around $500 My grandfather works at a salvage yard and the yard got the rocky on a remove from property. A son left it at his dads for 3 years and it was getting overgrown with weeds so the dad called the salvage yard and had it removed. My grandfather told me he had just got a little 4x4 that was running and drivable and that he would sale it to me for cheap. So I bought it for $500 and it took another $30 to get the paper work pushed threw at the motor vehicle department. Only problem is that the first time I got on the Highway the fork in the bell housing shattered and took out the clutch and pressure plat
that was another $200 “I had a friend that works at a parts house that owed me a favor”. And I also had to have the bell housing welded "$60" . I ran my rocky like that for around a year then I had to change out the driver side wheel bearing that was around $50 in parts. Then Last year my Transmission took a dive.
My rocky has been out of service since then. But a few months ago I bought another rocky that needs engine work but has a good transmission for $200.
Last week I Finally got the transmission swapped and now I’m trying to take care of any other maintaince needs before I put It back on the road. I just acquired a push bar yesterday and I plan on having the Front Diff. Locked and an electric fan installed before I put it back on the road. So to answer your question on how much I spent………around $1100 and a lot of my days off of work.
Lets say I will have about $1500 by the time I have it were I want it in a Month or two.

lmao that makes me VERY sick indeed.. u got lucky.. except for when parts broke out on u.. the guy that had the rocky removed.. wow.. he missed out big time... lol. he coulda chopped it up an made some serious $$. eh.. oh well.. i paid $3800 for mine with 89,000 miles on it.... not SUPER clean.. but pretty close... sad thing was, i bought it from a chick who didnt take care of it too well so i had to give it some serious tlc an it jus does great. the only time i have problems with it is when i get stupid an damage the body by 4x.... lol.. ooops... with that aside.. i'm fixin to dump about a grand into the rocky for a farther front end lift, rear end lift, body lift, welded front diff, roof cage for hard top, lighting bar, total tune up, fix some more body damage, new paint job, and some detailing... not a bad deal i would say... so i figure after i get done.. i'll have spent around $5200 total for the rocky when i get it the way i want it... its all good. i KNOW that i could turn around and sell it for 4 or 5 grand easy. so its not too bad.
