Guys,

In a small comp yesterday, we blew the top off the early (small) GQ power steering box and sheared all the bolts ect.
We ended up with a 2nd hand early GQ box and a late GQ box but on this box the splined shaft that connects to the pitman arm is sheared off.

Can you replace this shaft with the early GQ one and keep the top section of the late GQ box? Or do we need to get another shaft? Just trying to see if we can avoid buying another box

We will pull them apart and see, but just wondering if anyone knows if they are the same. The late GQ box physical size is bigger around the top section of the box due to the thicker casting and larger bolts but around the bottom it seems to be very close in size to the early model?

If anyone can help, that would be great.

Dave.
