Its one of those Mods you wish you never have to do ;) . But time has come for me to put in a baby seat. I havent had a look yet, But i am wondering if there is a factory point for these ?

If not whats the common practice putting one in ? . Im guessing drill a hole and put plate underneath. I dont really know , So any help is appreciated.

Thanks alot, If i can get this done, I can go wheeling more

cheers

back in the day when my old man had an MQ/MK, he had an anchor point bar fitted, it mounts throught the side of body, just below the fiber glass canopy, it was strong and allowed for 3 mounting points, as it wasnt on the floor, it still allowed storage space underneath it,

not sure who does them these days

RTA approved Seatbelt fitting station should be able to help you, theres one on sunnyholt rd blackton IIRC, theres also a mobile mob that runs around installing child restraints, yellowpages might have em.

Have a chat with an engineer who can sign off on them about requirements for plate size etc. It's probably cheaper to make your own and have it approved than to have a crab bar fitted and approved.
The crab bars are good in that you can move the anchor point from one side to the other, or install a second point for the cost of the $15 bracket - but they make loading/unloading a pain.

Thanx guys, Not the news i was hoping for but you get that with an old POS. I dont know what a crab bar is. I think i might find an engineer to talk to, But if i have to get it engineered, I might as well put a 3 seater in the front out of a ute and put the bub in the front. That way when its engineered for a 3 seater legally they cant hassle me.
