IFS 4x4 in tuff truck challenge?

G'day all,
just wondering, I know the solid front axle fourby are heaps stronger offroad and articulkation shits on any sort of IFS 4x4, but was wondering has anyone ever entered an IFS 4x4 in the tuff truck challenge or the like?
And if not, with all the custom engineering workshops around, Im sure someone could engineer a superior stronger front IFS setup, stronger shafts and bigger diff?
And if the Hilux front diff are not as strong as many say, would a larger front diff fit in its place, maybe the cruiser v8 IFS front diff?

The NZ Winch challenge had a IFS 4cyl Suzuki Vitara on 33" simex. Went ok, was almost always foot to the boards though.

Over in the states there was a all independant Buggy for a while. Walker Evans Racing built it. But went back to solid axle in hte end. They said that the rig was not cosistent enough in all conditions to warrant keeping it compared to the solid axle setup.

IFS is designed to give a smooth ride of rough terrain when going really fast. Not good for any rockcrawling/allterrian type courses. Probably alright in mud though....

Pretty sure the Hilux and cruiser IFS diffs are the same

In the 2000 Outback Challenge there were two (2) IFS vehicles which competed.
One was an RV6 Toyota 4Runner belting around one of the prologue stages, and the other was a Mitsubishi Triton which seemed fairly kitted out.
I can't really say how well they went but............

I thought Dynatrac pulled the plug because they couldnt get enough time to work on it ??

There was a few IFS competing in the recent Naracoorte/Apex 4x4 Challenge. Not a rock course mind you but enough offsets to max out the flex of all vehicles.
IFS is designed to give a smooth ride of rough terrain when going really fast. Not good for any rockcrawling/allterrian type courses. Probably alright in mud though....
Competing against the clock, I found quicker was better through the rough woopsies but ground clearance in the Rodeo was a bit of an issue

Cruiser V8 diff is the same size as hilux diff.
