high all,

just bought myself an RTC steering damper and i went to lob it on.. (yes i know its dark out :) ) and when i went to install it onto my 85 drover i had a dilemna.. what way does it go on? i tried putting it with the eyelet on the front mount point (near tie down point) but the other end hits on the mount bracket before i even get it in position.
when i try put it on the opposite way and put the other end on near the tie down point it wont fit over the mount point just a tiny bit too small in diameter.. any ideas.. or am i just a tardy and cant work this out..

hope someone can help.. will lob photos up if my explanation is as munted as my thoughts right now.

cheers guys,

sami

Should have come with fitting instructions. I've always followed the instructions when installing an RTC and only ever had one problem-fitting the stabiliser onto the pin end. 4Way may have fixed the problem by now but the rod that is welded onto the spring end sometimes is not big enough in the ID to fit the OD of the pin/bolt (welded to the chassis cross member).

Make sure the wheels are dead ahead and take the original damper off. Put it against the RTC and mark where the end of the coil is on the RTC. Put the clamps in place, tighten the clamps with the allen key supplied, twist the coil onto the slots in the clamps and then bolt the RTC on in place of the damper.

If all else fails pay the experts to fit it for you.

hey podge, cheers for the reply.
yeh thats the issue i have with the ID not being big enough. i follow destructions and got it all sorted and ready.. may pay to give it to the experts as you say and get them to do an alignment as well aye? save me some grief no doubt.
