Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone would know if there is any difference between the TB42 in the Patrols, and the TB42 in the forklifts.... A good mate of mine works at a forklift company, and it has a heaps of TB42's lying around....some even freshly recond. Was just thinking if it would be worth my while to try and pick one up cheap.

Thanks

Glen

Like nissan do with most stuff, when i comes to choosing a powerplant they look at what they allready have in production, TB42 was designed for forklifts before it ever made it into a patrol. The block , crank and rods should be identical, manifolds many be different as theywere designed for gas (i think). Let me know if you can get a cheepy as mine is starting to blow a bit of oil.

From the specs, it looks to me like it's exactly the same but maybe with different accessories, carb, manifold etc as Brunsy suggested.

This matches with stuff I have heard before ie they are identical.

How cheap would be cheap?

And what type of inlet manifold and mixer is used? Might be good for Patrol on straight LPG.
