Have yet to get my patrol engineered for the body lift and the 35 inch tyres I have fitted. As i'm travelling around at the moment. Thought it might be easyer to engineer everything whilst in a different state than Vic. Any ideas ?

It has to be engineered in the state it is registered in.
Same as if you buy a car interstate and try and register it at home.

I'm aware I can only enginner it in the state it registered. i can however reregister the car to the state i'm in. What i'm getting at is maybe its alot easyer to get the car engineered in say WA or NSW. I will be travelling around for a year or too. So its just a matter of stoping when my rego runs out. Getting the car engineered and reregistered and then continuing on my way. When i finish travelling reregister it to where i'm living.
just floating idea for some input as i have vey little idea about this engineering thing it just seems to cost a lot of money.

You need proof of residence in that state

You would also have to get it engineered again in the state you change the rego to when you stop travelling.

At the moment i'm travelling until I run out of money. stop work. Keep traveling. Proof of residentcy in which ever state would not be very hard.
Are you sure you have too reengineer when i retun too melle.

Good luck on the tyres ,but the body lift as far as l'm aware all you need to do is fill in a form at Transport dept and pay 60 bucks or something like that unless it's changed because when we were fitting them we were sending the customer to DT and had no knockbacks!!!2in only though !!

when i transferred mine they accepted the NSW engineers cert and i transferred it from NSW reg to Vic reg at the same time

all i needed was a roadworthy and a copy of the engineers cert , then the checked all the numbers and they passed it

that is with 35" x 12.5 tyres and 3" body lift and a lot of other mods

yes.
NO! Just use an NSW RTA approved engineer. My jag has a Vic engineer and has been rego'd here in NSW no dramas as the NSW RTA recognise him. ;)
