Hey all.
Im just about to pull the engine out of the 75 cruiser (tis just sitting on mounts with one bolt holding her steady. After inspection if its not to bad i plan to rebuild her and will put a turbo on it. Would like to know from anyone who has done it what turbo they used, and with/ withou intercoler. Especially if you didnt get a kit fitted in a shop. I will be a little short on the money post rebuild and plan to pull a DIY on the whole thing for $500 or under.
Cheers

it's a bit big for a 2H unless you want to intercool and make some really serious power - the 300ZX turbo is good for 130 - 180kW. look for something off an engine with similar or slightly higher power to what you intend to make. 2H at 8 - 10psi with a free flowing exhaust, no intercooler, will make around 100 - 120kW safely.
(but it is a good turbo - ball bearing, ceramic turbine, very easy to clock and near bulletproof as long as the EGT's are kept reasonable)
got one

Well i ended up with a oil cooled garette m10 turbo, including pipes and manifold. Tis a shame im going to have to cut the extractors i have out off the old girl. If any one in perth has a standard exhast and wants extractor tell me and well work a swap out. i have a Hj75 with the 2h.

a quick search on the web will give you some dynos of what the 2h makes stock. I got the turbo pipes and custom manifold for $200 which is rediciously cheap but it is in need of a good service which will probably be another $400 so im told. In terms of overall price and easyness, i read a post that said 1 day to set up but i havent had a go at it yet so no idea tlk to dumbance as he diy his. For some reason my engine just will not fall of the spline and come out, and im sure i have absolutley every bolt out that holds it to the box. If anyone has anytips to getting her out, give me a yell.
