about $2500 for a conversion mine was LPGAS 1 and about 3 years ago, I now want to go dedicated gas and have the Throttle Body (gas carby) installed and that will be $1650 fitted and tuned.
Also what i have found and many others too is that if The TB42 has done around 200,000 and you convert it to gas it will crack the head shortly after installing gas if not allready, LPG burns Hotter and this seems to stress an allready hardened alluminium head. But then again some are lucky.
Power wise i dont really notice a difference from Unleaded to LPG.

Brunsy,
Save youself about 1000$ and get yourself a Intake manifold off an injected 4.2 ( with the butterfly intact) and then just install a mixer to sit this setup. Should cost about 300 for the mixer and 300 for the manifold and fitting

That's dreadful. Clearly the increase in petrol prices is enabling them to charge a lot more than they used to for the conversions.

It cost me $2300 in 2000 to convert my Mav/Carby.
3K is a lot of dosh..but when you pay like I did 36 cents per litre for gas tonight
( with docket , 40.7 normal retail) ...there are some savings.
Just have to do the maths to see if it is worth it.

What system are you getting and where are they putting the gas tank? The most common way to do it is to remove your petrol tank and put a bracketed 90L gas tank in its place. Then u fit a 75L (i think) fuel tank under the floor on the drivers side. The fuel tank alone is worth about $800, then the gas tank is about $6-700. They arent a cheap conversion to do....... And im glad i dont have to fit the stuff anymore!

Anyone on here do gas conversions? Cosndering the milage I do I cant justify spending $2000 for fitting when I have all the gear already there.

which i think most people dont do, they see short term "saving" with the 40cpl V $1.40.. cant blame em in one way.. but how long to get back the $3000.00
it also makes the car more saleable with LPG.. without it, most petrols wont go anywhere

I dont know what planet you live on bogged but around here the 4.8 is the hottest thing in the 4b yards.
There are those that arent as hung up on the fuel deal as you and have a genuine need for the power output of this engine or just appreciate it for the same reason. Much like owning a hot car of any guise, Economy is the price to pay for the luxury of enuff grunt to pull the fuckin diff clean out of that kero burnin pos you drive around in.
Get over it dude. Twin cam quad valve grunt rox.

mate of mine is car wholesaler, he says the market is flooded with them, and nobody will touch them, so I know who I would believe.

There are better options than having to pay squillion $ to start the engine.
