gday guys

im curious if there is any noticeable different in cab space for these cars, do any years have more or less cab space then others?

im a pretty big guy, 6foot 6 and find it hard to fit in most 4bys, funnily enough the zook i have seems to have the most room of all the ones ive been in lately(drivers seat)

but i have to look at upgrading to something a bit bigger, and the landy ute seems to be the go for what i want/need

Late '99 the 75series became the 79series - 5 stud rims, coil front end and the cab was 120mm longer!

I own a 75 and all our work utes are 79's, 120mm longer, transmission hump narrower etc. The cabs are completely different and noticeably larger (roomier) inside. Lovely to drive for a cruiser ute.

The 79's are far roomier. Having said that i (~6'2) don't find the 75's too bad - especially with an aftermarket seat that sits a little higher (it's possible the later model 75 seats sit higher too). Plenty of head room for me.

I haven't driven the Toyta but I have driven Landie traybacks. Noting I am a Landie owner, you will realise I am not being biased when I say the LR cab is too small. I'm 6 ft and I can't get back far enough from the wheel. The leg room and arm room on the truck cab is certainly less than the station wagon.

Having said that, there was a model produced with an extended cab but you'd have trouble finding one.

Ride quality on a Landie is definitely better than the 75 series (dunno about later 79 series) and also far better than a GU Patrol trayback (which has a jarringly uncomfortable ride).

Despite what motor noters say, the Defender seats are quite comfortable on trips.

cheers for the info guys, much appreciated

looks like a 75 for me, might have to do soemthing with the seat tho

im suprised how many 4wd's are so small in the drivers seat, or even passengers

ive been in landcruiser 80 series, lux's, mavericks, and they are all tight asses with their room,, why when the bloody things are so big?
