Early GQ ute front diffs

Alrighty then, the first model GQ utes look like MQ's with GQ grill and lights, the front diff is like any GQ (H233b), not like an MQ (C200)except they are designed for leaf springs, are these diffs the same width as an MQ, cause the bonnet and gaurds seem to be from a MQ??, What I'm getting at is, can a front diff from an early GQ leafsprung ute fit an MQ and would it be stronger than the MQ diff.

Does anyone think they may be interchangable??

I once measured the spring perch widths and if I remember correctly they were the same width. Whether the tie rod ends and such would fit up correctly, I never got that far.

If they measure up the same, Do you think the GQ diff (h233b) would be stronger than the MQ ( C200)'

i got a front diff here off an early leaf sprung gq, i think theyll fit straight in, steering and all.
cv's had a thicker bell on them, some people reckon there the same, they are not, the outside diameter is the same, the inside ball and star is smaller so the bell was thicker than mq, lasted a lot longer before breaking!
i think the axle width is a bit narrower, about 1", same as mq"s

Sounds like they might just swap out then, just gotta check on ratio, My Mk is a 4.6, did the early GQ ute come with a 4.6?????
