3" is cheepest any more then that and you will have to extend brake lines, fit castor plates or bushes, and put in adjustable panhard rods, with 3" you will get away with just coils and shocks in most cases, and how high you go depends on what tyres you want to run i fit 36's easily with 3" coils 2" body and some trimming

As a general rule of thumb, lift it only as much as you need - more lift = less stability and more hassles. Why do you need 6" - 8"?

i would've thought a 2" SL with 2" bl would've been the most cost effective from what i've read on this forum before. But, if I can make a suggestion i would personally go a 3" SL first and if my tyres were rubbing just a little then i'd raise the body 1". That way you'd get a 4" lift overall.

I have at hte moment 2" SL and 2" BL. I have found that the Bl helps save the sills on mine as well with the 2" SL i can get 35's under no worries. But i am still geting caught up as i don't have enought articulation and height for the chassis. so to this event i am now looking at 4" SL and 2" BL for a total of 6" overall and that is the limit of what i want to do, anything more than that, the car gets real unstable

4" susp, 2" body. I currently run 33's, but thats the budget. And I get everywhere I want to go. BATC Adjustable panhards, drop boxes for castor, Dobinson springs, Procomp ES9000 shocks.

with a 2-3"SL and a 2" bodylift clears 35s and still stable. All the comp cars now are low and fast, suspension travel is not a major concern cause of lockers. With a 3inch spring lift and 80series shockers on the front (lift the shock towers), castor correction and you might get away with out panhard rods it will have plenty of wheel travel and handle alright on the road.

just my 2cents

For a 4" SL you really want those two items. Unless you can afford to shell out big $$ for aftermarket Radius arms. Adjustable Panhards are necessary, as will be stronger rear lower trailing arms. If you inted to actually use your vehicle then they (panhards, trailing arms) will be damaged quickly, this is due to a combination of things ei; more exposed, car goes further.. etc...

I my opinion 2"BL w/ 4" SL is overkill. I have 35's under my 4" lifted GQ shorty and only had to chop the rear quarters - you will need to anyway if, as mentioned before, you intend to actually use your car. With this setup the car looks like a beefy stock version, the 35's fill the wheel arches nicely and it still isn't too low...

So go with 4" SL unless you inted to go 38"+ tyres...

I agree, I have a 4" suspension lift and had to get the rear guards opened out to clear my 35s. I do have to get the front guards opened out a bit at the back to clear my 36" Centipedes. Even with the diff pushed 12mm forward they still hit on compression with the wheels straght ahead.

i has 1.5 bb and 5 inch spring and looked good but possibly a bit big....... if you want to save coin but be capable i reckon a good 3 inch spring and 2 inch blocks and castor bushes make it pleasant to drive and no major dramas cutting cross members extending break lines and panards etc...

depends how easy u want it to tip

thanks

Just a suggestion - do the suspension lift (you'll need castor correction as well), and see how you go fitting your preferred tyres etc.

THEN decide if you still want the body lift. They are separate jobs anyway, and you might end up happy with the spring lift.

Good advice. We fitted Q78 Swampers (36" approx) to Dads Patrol with 3" springs and a decent guard chop.

What tires do you intend to run?

What will your truck be doing most of
- weekend only warrior ?
- tourer
- daily driver and weekender
- offroad only..

as stated, 3inch is easiest, and also most insurance companies will only go 75mm with some going 70mm just to be fuckwits
