Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Just wandering trailing arms like the ones sold in the UK would be like on a patrol or landcruiser. From the photo they are only stitch welded and have a bit of flat bar on top and bottom. It would be easy to get a bit of plate laser cut into the shape of the original trailing arm and then wrap some flat bar top and bottom. You could build in castor correction and then put (like the 3rds) a pivot point for the patrols.

Would it last???

if made correctly they would be easily strong enough and be vastly light than 3rds improving unsprung weight. I would not have the 3rds style pivot. i flexed mine to get the spring out and the swivel hadn't started to swivel yet as the rubber patrol bushes are compliant enough - thats why i got rid of them on mine.

Won't they break or break the diff housing. All trailing arms are forged to give flex which mild steel can't do repetitivly

3rds are not forged as far as i am aware (i doubt they would mahine every surface of a forging, as they are completely machined). mild steel can flex no worries. personally i couldn't go past the ones on for sale
