I'm thinking of makeing a set of side steps or rock sliders for my nissan patrol gu st 2001 and I was wondering if anyone could send me some pictures of these. Mainly under the chassis and how it bolts to it, measurements, any modifications that you have done to improve the design. Anything at all would be greatly appreciated.

I was about to direct you to Patrol4x4, but I see you have already been there and posted as well. I like the look of Mutley's sliders as posted in the reply on that site.
For anyone else who's interested, here's the link:

I have to say I prefer the look of round sliders over square ones but which is stronger? and is there any need to use such wide sliders as the ones above? ie would square do instead of rectangular?

I like the look of the round ones also although sliders that are round concentrate the point of impact/friction so are in effect somewhat less of a slider than a flat faced design.

I chose the wider RHS to add a little more protection for the sill if I hit a rock while the truck was on a bit of an angle. They are still tucked under neatly and don't stand out to much.
