Is this the shifter sheet issue seen on the suzuki's?
When its in 4WD, it wont come out of 4wd, but if you drive a bit, hot a kerb etc it jolts out into 2wd again...
thoughts? where can i get replacement parts?
tried a search but theres like 10000 pages of crud to go through and im lazy!

Are you using 4WD on the road and binding up the transmission?
Try reversing to unwind it.

I have no idea what "the shifter sheet issue" is, so I can't comment on that.
You'll need to be a little more specific, as the Pajero Super Select system is a little more sophisticated than the transfer which would be in the Suzuki doing donuts in your avatar. So, a couple of questions.
Is it a Super Select system or Easy Select system? Super Select has two 4H positions - with and without the centre diff locked.
Is the transfer lever physically jamming in 4H, or is the problem with flashing lights on the dash? One is a common problem which is well covered in our FAQ thread, the other is not a problem with which I'm familiar.

sorry...
the shifter sheet issue in the zuk is the rubber bush on the gear stick, it gets flogged out and eventually just jams into a position and takes a LOT of persuasion to get out (and usually gets jammed into neutral after that till you replace it). ive since found out his is auto - so this sheet will not exist.
the Pajero is a work mates wife's vehicle so i dont know what type specifically - and unfortunately neither does he... lol
he did however mention a flashing light, then if you roll over a bump etc theres a loud clunk when you shift it (it un-jams) and its into 2wd and going fine.
had a read on the FAQ Bible thread - the only thing that doesnt follow is the big clunk as it suddenly changes into gear... i was hoping it was a common issue and easy to fix?
as for the sierra doing donuts... yes, it is, and it was fun =) not going to be doing any more after that day though as its undergoing some heavy modding and i wouldnt dare put it sideways intentionally now!

OK, if he's got flashing lights first guess would be the transfer lever is shifting out of 4H, and it's the front disconnect which is staying engaged. Although I've never noticed a thunk as it disconnects.
But your post reads like he can't shift until he hits a bump, which sounds like a typical transmission wind-up problem. The Super Select shouldn't have this problem, as it has a centre differential with viscous coupling. If there's a problem with the centre diff, that could also create a flashing light on the dash.
So, more questions. Let's confirm it's Super Select transfer. From memory, GL didn't have Super Select, but I doubt it had auto. Can you find out if it has 4H and 4HLc on the transfer shifter?
More details on the flashing light - is it front wheels or centre diff?
Are all tyres same brand, size and age? If front and rear tyres are different size (even one axle new tyres, the other worn out) that can be enough to create hassles with the transfer case.
Cheers,
Scott

This probably won't help, but a few years ago my mate had a brand new challenger which would not disengage 4wd. I think mitsubishi eventually replaced the vehicle and sent it back to japan for the engineers to look at. Useless information I know, but hey...

hehe he's gonna test it on sand on the weekend and try a bunch of things that will bind or unbind the tcase to see if it is binding...
