I need to replace my clutch and i'm looking at getting a a heavy duty clutch, a 4TERRAIN performance clutch by clutch industries! Has anyone had any experience with them? If not what type have you used?
Also at the auto parts place it lists two different types for my model 93 widetrack, two different splines? does any one know wich i would have or will i have to pull it out to check?

Cheers

The industry P/No. for a Sierra 1.3 w/G13A or G13BA is an R330N (Std) or R330NHD (H/D), Exedy P/No. SZK-6288 (Std) or SZK-6288HD (H/D). Some listings give a P/No. R335N but this is a Swift clutch kit. Use these P/No.s when ordering a 1.3 and you'll be right.

The Centreforce is the best clutch. I've been running one in mine for over six years and it cops a beating. I'm not sure who to get Centreforce from these days, it used to be PBR but they relinquished their distribution rights about 4 years ago.

Once upon a time when I used to actually go 4wding and I had a Zuk I used a 4 puck sintered copper clutch pressure plate .. it was able to get hot as hell and just continued to hold perfectly ..
Make sure it has a sprung centre

That looks like exactly what I had ... even after being oil contaminated it still worked (after it was boiled in soapy water for a bit to get rid of alot of the oil .. )

According to an old mechanic I know Sierra clutch can be replaced with VW Passat 2.0 not sure about pressure plate. Does anyone know a link to a clutch manufacturers specs catalogue? So I can check.

According to the guy at the clutch place, he said that it will last 10 times longer than a stock one and they take an absolute beating(i hope so ;) ) and they actually have a soft feel.

I thought a button clutch ment it had a solid centre ? ie no coilly springs.

they're the new school button clutches i think, now using a normal clutch centre with buttons some run a solid friction plate on 1 side and button style on the other side.
the early button clutches were solid centred i reckon. about 8 years ago i remember a mate putting a button solid centred clutch in a spastic beetle, talk about launching off the line & brutal at the same time, quite difficult to drive normally but NO slip.
:D

Mine was sintered copper/ceramic was quite nice to drive with a lighter pressue plate (origionally installed with a centre force ... that was no good) The same puk types on both sides.

It was reasonably progressive in the uptake and had a sprung centre.. even when the clutch was smoking it would still bit evey bite as well as when it was stone cold.

When I installed mine about 4 or 5 years ago it was custom made and cost heaps .. good to see that they are now stocked items, when I put the 1.6 in my new to me Zuk I will be installing one of these clutch's, the holding power compared to a stocker is fantastic ..
