i have a 1.3 starter here and a 1.6 efi starter

i have the g16a block the 16v inj one, and a 92 1.3L gearbox im also using a 1.3 flywheel, 1.3 plate between the gearbox and motor,

to make the 1.3 starter fit i have to do some grinding, is there any reason that i cant use the 1.6 starter ?? when im looking at them they look exactly the same except the 1.3 one is fatter ?? and the 1.6 one bolts up without any dramas

is there any reason i cant use the 1.6 one ???

make sure the starter bolts in the correct spot , in relation to the flywheel/ring-gear !!!

you dont want it........
a..miss meshing into ring gear too low
b..too far out & running on just the tips of the ring-gear !!

have fun !!
post up your results !!! (for the bible, if not already in there !!) :D

yeah 1600 starter works fine, i used the 1.3L plate between the motor (1.6L) and the gearbox(1.3L)
