We all go about making little changes to our trucks to make them better. Then one day u look at it and think that thing ain't anywhere close to legal anymore.

So when is it that you should decide to start consulting an engineer to discuss what you are doing, get your mods approved, and how do you go about finding and choosing one?

It is best to get everything approved by a enineer, it is to risky not to today and the headaches you will have if you have a accident its just not worth it. Im only talking about if you hurt any one, if you just have a accident and the insurance company notices non approved and notified work they will cancel your insurance and you will be stuck to sort things out yourself.

Finding a good engineer is pot luck, my best advice is to ask people on here that live in the same area as you, or go visit a few 4wd mod places around you and ask who they use.
