Outer Limits 4x4 Board

seeing as i have the front diff and all out, i pulled the centre and i have welded it up.





i will also weld a flange on the RHS stub axle to run 2 left hand side shafts.

i am also making some front diff lowering brackets. i will post up picks as the get made.

i have also cut the rear guards to make room for 33"s under full flex.





NOTE: make sure you tape all the wires inside out of the way before you start cutting!


i am also working on a new upper A arm design for the rear diff. can anyone help me out? i'm looking at making something similar to what ANTT made for his LWB, but not as beefy. how about a treg hitch style joint?

What is that thing on the end of your drill??

Drill nibbler for doing panel cutting easier than a grinder.

yeah, its a super cheap nibbler! pretty good, but i ended up using the grinder with a 1.0mm cutting disc.

reason being, the vit rear section is double walled, so it was harder to use the nibbler.

the nibbler is good with thin sheet metal, like the vit front guards, its a lot easy than a grinder in that instance.

also, the nibbler takes out a 3mm wide cutting path, so you have to make sure you cut on the out side, and not on the inside, unless you want to work with less material than you have to.

So its taken you this long to weld your front diff but you have clearance lights on the back corners?????

That’s cool, I might have to go have a look at one. I was looking at the pics thinking u got lucky, looked easy beside the last little bit at the rear, but I gather not. Those 1mm cutting disks are very cool, I did not realise they were available till last week

i've never really thought i needed a locked front, but seeing as i took my motor and gear box out, and i was making drop brackets, the centre just fell out and it got welded. i had always been to slack just to pull the front diff to weld.

a clearance lights? they're not connected. my friend had them in the back corner of his shed, and so i took them. the one on the right took a bit of force when i tipped it, but its still intact and works, just pushed the corner in..
