2.8 engine help needed

G'Day guys,
I have a question about the 2.8 diesel intercooled, this one actaully being in a DELICA.
I am going to struggle to explain what this piece of componentry is, but here goes!
It is a small valve that sits in a cast casing, and it has coolant run through it. It is down low on the passenger side of the engine, and has a lever with a big spring above it, and that lever sits against the plate that the throttle cable comes in on. This valve has a circlip holding it down into the cast casing, and it sits in the vertical position.
The problem my friend is having, is that this valve is leaking coolant. I know this is a very slap hazard description, but can someone tell me what this and if it is easy to replace?!?
Thanks a lot!
Cheers, Dan
