Outer Limits 4x4 Board

got bored and started looking up longest and most offset spring in 60mm.

best i got was:

IFS LN107, SR5, RN106, LN108 & LN167 8/1988 On
---------- 1300mm total length
---------- 180mm offset

Patrol Y260 2.8TD SWB & LWB
--------- 1435mm total length
--------- 215mm offset

rough rocky measurment EFS 2" off my car=

REAR-- 1150mm total
-- 90mm offset

FRONT-- 1140mm total
--140mm offset

considering putting lux in front an patrol in the rear
Thoughts?

if not just go IFS fronts and IFS backwards in the rear

i 2nd ev.....ur cars bloody uncomfy.... and plus look at the bright side....i could do with new springs

Have you got any lift? And if so, have you removed your panhard rod?

he removed the panhard it has 2 inch leaves and it leans ridiculously to the drivers side...... doesnt matter much anymore cause he blew up his engine

Well, mine used to lean to the drivers side, a combination of dual batteries, offset transfer case, and fat arsed driver all on the right hand side.

mine has a lean to the drivers side to i was temped to remove panhard rod myself but though after removing sway bay probably not a good idea has anyone else removed theirs?

My panhard rod departed this life about 6 years ago. No problems with its loss.
Assuming it has leaves at the front, its not a problem. In fact, I have never managed to work out why Daihatsu fitted one as standard, because if the boffins there decreed that it needed one on the front, why didnt they fit one to the rear?

Think about it, if you fit lifted springs to your vehicle, specifically the front, the chassis and body is lifted, however, the panhard rod length stays the same. As its attached to the chassis on the drivers side, it is naturally going to pull this side down if any lift is fitted. Hence adjustable panhard rods for other makes with lifted suspension.

As for other makes springs that fit, have a look at Nissan C20 van springs. They are the correct width, and about 80mm longer, so you can get them reset to give pretty big lift. They are also thicker, so will handle fitting to the rear for extra weight carrying, but at a loss of ride comfort, and suspension flex. But thats not a problem if you have diff locks fitted.

when i got the car it didnt have a panhard....i removed the sway bar and 2"body lift and it may have been 2"sus. lift thats sagged like a biatch.

but yeah my fat arse has brought the driverside down
