Turbo advice for 1HZ 80 Diesel.

Post by bsquared »

Hi, I am new at this. I am looking to boost the power on my 1HZ Diesel 80 series, cause I am now using it more for towing a large van and less 4WD. Thinking of putting an after market turbo on as one option, or maybe having LPG unit fitted. Can anyone recomend a place I can go in Melbourne Metro Area, to talk about supply and fitting a turbo. I want somewhere I can trust to advise if it is feasable and will not charge an arm an a leg to supply and fit. In other words someone who knows what their doing, and not a back yard shonky job. Any suggestions. Any help would be appreciated, thanks Brad.

Brad
go to a reputable installer, and get a well designed system....LPG is a good idea too, you will get power out of that with better $$ per km, as LPG is 1/3 the price of diesel...so u use less diesel, and fill with lpg every few tanks of diesel.

Brad, try out the search function above as there have been plenty of discussions on here regarding turbo's on 1hz engines.

Also, lately in the mag "4wd monthly" there have been some conversions in two troppy's and one 100 series.
