rear drive shaft

G'day fellas
i have put a slight dint and sort of shallow scrape marks on my drive shaft near the rear uni joint,would this cause any vibration while driving??
as im now getting a slight vibration and im looking for the........................ "what bloody now"

G'day, scrapes wont do a thing but a dent might be able to slightly put it out of balance. Have you checked the rear uni to see if its got any movement, thatll definately do it..

There are small weights tacked onto the drive shaft which are used to balance the shaft. Is it possible that you have knocked one of these off? If the vibration has occurred since you hit the drive shaft, then you would have to assume that it is related! I would remove the shaft and have it balanced!

Id say for sure your tail shaft is out of balance due to the hit . If your lucky a balance will fix it , about $80.

do you know if a manuel drive shaft will fit a auto?? as a mate has a manuel and i can just swap them over to see if that is the problem.

No it won't the auto drive shaft is shorter.
