My sons GQ has done a head gasket the oil is like white coffee and theres water pissing out the LHS of the engine around a sensor of some sorts that protrudes from the manifold. When he tried to start it to move the car there was a very heavy sounding clunk and after about 3 attempts to start it she wont turn over at all. What is that likely to be? Does anyone know of a reliable place around the Dandenong Endeavour Hills area that wont charge an arm and a leg and will work with him on parts supplies as he works at National Parts in Dandenong and gets all parts at cost plus 10%. It looks like we will have to tow it to wherever and so we dont want to travel too far. Any advice would be much appreciated.

it would have hydrolic the engine, water filled up the cylindar so much it wont move up or down, best way would be put it on a to truck and take it to a mechanic shop,or pull all the spark plugs out, wind it over so all the water comes out(u will also find out what cylinder is filling up with water)put the rad cap half on and plugs back in,and drive it down to the work shop

the reason u put the rad cap on half a turn instead of the full turn is that its loose and that it wont presure raise the cooling system causing it to hydrolic while driving(very bad)could bend a conrod etc

I feel for ya,
my head split too a couple of days B4 christmas, I am a diesel fitter by trade so even doing it myself, (new head casting) cost me just under 2grand, wouldnt have been able to afford workshop prices. Mate of mine Anthony Morrow is a mechanic Knows these things back to front, nice bloke and and price is always reasonable. He is in Mt evelyn might be worth a try if you dont want to pay big workshop overheads.
MORROW AUTOMOTIVE 9736 1979.
